Chris Gardner
Chris Gardner
Chris Gardner (C-Gar) is a native of Buffalo, New York, and currently resides in Houston, Texas. Chris has been performing his original music around Texas and New York for the last 20 years. Chris' music deals with the human experience, loves gained, loves lost, and the triumphs as well as the tragedies of day-to-day life. He has worked with some grat musicians, recording artists, and producers in various musical idioms. Chris has also had the pleasure of recording original CD projects with Patrick McGuire (Gabriel, Diamond Rio), Mark Matejka (Charlie Daniels, Lynryrd Skynyrd), and Mike Sack (Goo Goo Dolls), where a demo CD for Chris with his former band, "Cultured Species", was recorded. He has been called one of Texas' bright spots and has clearly solidified his place as an "innovative and solid songwriter" (Texas Music News) of both country and pop/rock.
His first professional undertaking was in 1988 and since then he has continued recording new material and honing his craft, studying the rudiments of music and voice for two years with internationally renowned tenor David Lee Brewer, who has tutored and developed many well-known groups and artists, including Beyoncé, Destiny's Child, Dawn Robinson, and Toni Braxton. Chris' first recordings were included on a compilation CD set called The Project 12 x 12 (Volumes 5 & 6), and his debut CD, "A Brighter Day", received airplay on college radio stations throughout Texas.

In the late summer of 2000, Chris was selected as one of the 10 finalists in the Texas True Value Country Music Showdown in Garland, TX. Performing an original song, "One True Love", Chris placed third in the statewide competition. Chris has performed at various festivals, including Healthy Heart Walk in downtown Houston ('06 and '07), as well as the Spencefest in '07 and '08.

Chris has performed most recently to a packed house at the Meridian Club in downtown Houston where he debuted one of his albums as well as a video "Take Me Away". Chris' past albums are available at a variety of online stores, including iTunes, Rhapsody, and Amazon.
"It is my hope that my music be the source the listener can draw from life's experiences as I have drawn on hundreds of songwriters before me, to be a soothing voice helping make sense out of life. Enjoy!"
