The Chamanas
The Chamanas
It is at the border between El Paso,Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua where the Mexico-American band The Chamanas is born - formed by Manuel Calderon, Hector Carreon, and Amalia Mondragon, their style is characterized by the mixing of rhythms and genres ranging from country music, to Pop, to Indie danzón. Influenced by their Latin roots, The Chamanas creates a connection that links two countries, giving us a fusion of Latin rhythms and folk that unites two cultures divided by physical barriers.
Great Shapes
Great Shapes
Great Shapes is an indie pop rock quartet based in El Paso, Texas.
Elyze
Elyze
Underground Pop Rock, but in Spanish. That's how Elton Salazar would describe the sound of Elyze, Houston's latest group making its rounds across local and regional music venues. The lead vocalist and songwriter started the band as a concept blending elements of Indie, Pop and Rock. Drawing inspiration from American poet Bukowski, Salazar’s lyrics are both direct and at times in contrast with the melody of the instrumentation. Morrissey, The Smiths and Caifanes are all influences to the band’s sound, which is rounded out by Alberto “Beto” Hernandez (drums), Ed Medrano (guitar) and Adrian Santacruz (bass). Collectively, the members bring a strong passion for the art of music allowing them to create a sound that is easily recognizable and distinguishably their own. Currently in the studio, the band is working on their first self-produced album with plans on releasing it in the summer.
